Raate

Tens of thousands of people are interested in The Winter War battles in Suomussalmi and Raate Road annually. You can explore the course of the Winter War in the Raatteen Portti Winter War Museum. Near the museum there is also the Winter War Monument. By the Museum Road there is also the Russian Memorial, the Purasjoki monument and the Likoharju monument. At the eastern end of the road, there is the Raate Frontier Guard Museum.

Visitors can tour the exhibition on their own or hire a guide.
